Finding That Perfect Smoothie Balance

Finding That Perfect Smoothie Balance

Finding That Perfect Smoothie Balance

Whether you're flipping through a recipe book or combing the internet for the newest smoothie craze, there always seems to be an endless amount of smoothies and juices to try. We definitely get it!

Finding the perfect smoothie to sip on or choosing a new favourite for breakfast, lunch or even dinner can be a bit tricky at the best of times. Some smoothies are more filling than others, some are better for those who want the skin benefits and others are good for those who need more vegetables or fruit in their daily diet.

But it's important to remember that every hearty and healthy meal contains a wide variety of nutrients and vitamins. The same should be applied when it comes to smoothies and juices. We like to aim to have protein, healthy fats and carbs in all of our smoothies.

You can also have some fun with recipes by including produce from different food groups. If your smoothie isn't getting rid of those hunger pangs, maybe try more ingredients with protein or protein powder. If your smoothie tastes too much like spinach or kale, maybe add some honey to sweeten it up. If you need to hydrate and increase your water intake, you can always substitute milk for water or add slices of cucumber to your smoothie. We always like to start with the base of the smoothie, some fruits like bananas, strawberries, mango and blueberries are a great way to get started.

Making smoothies should be fun and relaxing. It's always great to 'blend' (not shake) things up a little, so don't be afraid to try new things and choose recipes that are right for you and nourish your mind and body.

With that said, we have another amazing recipe for you to try.

Ingredients:
1/4 cup of sliced mango (frozen if you can't get your hands on fresh)
1/4 cup of Greek yoghurt
A tablespoon of chia seeds
A tablespoon of pistachios
A scoop of your favourite protein powder
A half of a small apple, sliced
Your preferred milk

(We recommend adding the mango and apple last for more room.)

We're drooling over these amazing health benefits!

Mango - Filled with Vitamin A and C, mangoes are not only delicious but contain lots of minerals and fibre that helps to keep you fuller for longer.
